STARBUCKS 2026 Campaign - Somewhere Close

Rooted in the belief that all storytelling and emotion begin with the image, Mo Lyu’s filmmaking is guided by a restrained and considered visual language. Having grown up across different regions, she developed a cross-cultural perspective that continues to inform her observations of people, spaces, and the world around her. She studied Fashion Media Production at the University of the Arts London, where her engagement with visual culture further shaped her approach to image-making.

Her work is defined by quiet precision, where negative space, subtle gestures, and the undercurrents of human emotion take precedence over overt expression. Through a measured visual rhythm, she seeks to reveal what lies beneath the surface, allowing images to carry meaning beyond words while balancing artistic exploration with narrative clarity.

Working across commercials, music videos, and experimental visual forms, Mo Lyu continues to develop a distinctive cinematic language that brings together visual sensitivity, emotional depth, and a nuanced understanding of each project’s creative identity.
